How to Block Ads in iOS 8 & 9. Weblock seems to be the best working, highest rated ad-blocking software available on iOS without needed to have a jailbroken device. Weblock should block most, if not all, in-app banners and pop ups. The description says it also blocks ads in most browsers (including Safari and Chrome) and it seems to be hit or miss in that case. Adding new sources to the blacklist may help to block more ads. I don't believe Weblock will block ads in YouTube but I've noticed a "glitch" in the YouTube app (mainly the Android version) where often times ads don't play anyway on monetized videos.
